Too often people think downtown is Cleveland, that this neighborhood or that one represents all of Cleveland. Some of it’s good, some bad, others ugly, some beautiful. Truth is we have a network of neighborhoods and enclaves whose character, promise and histories map up to one helluva place we call home. On Thursday, July 14, you can experience two parts of town you may not know, but should: Midtown, Kinsman and Central.
Started as a one-man operation by Chef Gary Thomas, Ohio City Pasta has been providing fresh pasta to the Cleveland restaurant scene for more than 20 years. One of my favorite ways to discover new restaurants is eating other people’s leftovers. When I took a bite of a friend’s pad thai from Bac last summer, my immediate reaction was I want to go to there. So, I did. About ten months later. But the saying “better late than never” has never been so true.

Recently I was stressing about getting some Ultimate Brownies/Cakes Plus goodies from Cleveland’s top dessertista, Diana Dumitru, whose Rocky River shop serves up the best cakes, brownies, tarts, cuppies and chocolate-covered strawberries around.
